Frequently Asked Questions

How is David Kocol different than other videographers?

I provide value to my clients by working with them so they have great performances, use Social Media to promote their message both before and after events. I can work with them to create a marketing plan, so they have items to give away, sell at various levels, creat product bundles and signature products for back of the room and online sales.

I specialize in working with Speakers, Performers and Small Business. I work with my clients to capture great performances. I coaching those performers to give great visual performances.

I want my Speakers to have the best possible demo reels, back of the room products and video clips. I can do a three camera television production, or have the camera as an audience member at a presentation or speech.

I also provide tools to give as much help in the video process, including coaching, using a monitor so you can see what the camera is capturing (and make the adjustments so the shots are better).

Is professional video expensive?

Is really good video expensive? I believe that really bad video is expensive. It makes you look less professionalcan cost you clients, future speaking gigs and cause others to question your credibility or seriousness. It can affect what others think of you and your business.

If you make thousands of dollars by speaking, doesn’t it make sense to capture great examples of you sharing your message? There are so many ways to promote yourself, create products and change the lives of many, many people, just by using video of a great speech you gave in the past.

As a professional, It takes me time to prepare the equipment prior to the shoot. Making sure that all the cameras, cables and microphones work, that all the equipment is ready, powers up and works like it is supposed to and everything that needs them has fresh batteries.

This happens on every shoot. Clients aren’t billed for this, nor the broken, defective or missing equipment that is discovered and substituted so high quality video can be shot.

Why can’t I just video myself?

You can video yourself, however, the results will be similar to a home video. Here are some differences:

1.  My equipment is much better (much more expensive and continually being upgraded). I’ve spent enormous sums of money on things like cameras, microphones, monitors, tripods, cables, adaptors, backgrounds, lights, computers, software and much, much more.

2.  I have decades of video, photography, computer and systems level troubleshooting experience.

3. I am there specifically to be their video and photography champion. (I look for and solve problems so they can concentrate on their performance).

4. I am continually improving my products. As a videographer, I spend literally hundreds of hours each year shooting, reviewing and adjusting to get the shots I want for my clients. This is the part where the technology geek meets the artist.

5. I work with my clients to make sure that the call to action or emotions they want their audience to feel comes out in the video. Videos just don’t happen, they are created. Rarely is a great looking video just shot. The planning, what customers don’t see, is a huge part of successful videos.

6. I capture the performance. My clients are performers. I use techniques and tools to help them bring out their best performance. The camera is sometimes the entire audience while at other times, it is just a bystander.  I coach my clients to know which to do when and why. Because I am also a Speaker, I can help my clients bring out technically better performances, so I can capture them.
